Royal Bengal Tiger's carcass found in Kaziranga

Golaghat (Assam), Feb 18 (PTI) The carcass of a male Royal Bengal Tiger, suspected to be killed by another animal in a fight, has been found in Kaziranga National Park, forest officials said today.

The carcass with injury marks on the neck was found near the Lonkur Chapori Forest Camp by forest officials yesterday.

The tiger was 2.5 m long and its age was over three years old, sources said.

According to the last tiger census in 2000, there were 86 tigers in the Park but now their number has increased to more than hundred, the official added.
