In Maleisië zijn er plannen van verschillende Westerse bedrijven om dierproefcentra te bouwen. Apen zullen gebruikt worden in experimenten die het daglicht niet kunnen verdragen.

Het is nog niet te laat. Stuur nu een protestmail naar de regering van Maleisië en het Bureau van Toerisme. Laat hen weten dat het zorgvuldig opgebouwde imago van Maleisië klappen oploopt door primatencentra op te zetten.

I'm shocked and appalled to hear about the plans of the Malaysian government to allow the building of primate testing facilities. A primate testing facility is a horrific place where our next of kin are forced to participate in cruel experiments.

Primatologist Marc van Roosmalen explains the emotional conditions of primates in laboratories: 'Monkeys are sentient beings with a capacity to experience a wide range of emotions like pain, fear, love, happiness, joy, passion, sorrow and rage. Just like humans do. Locking up monkeys in labs deprives them of their innate needs that have developed over the course of millions of years of evolution.'

I urge you to stop the building of primate testing facilities. Malaysia is a beautiful country and a popular destination for tourists throughout the world.
Cruel experiments on primates, however, will have a negative impact on theinternational reputation of Malaysia, especially with regards to eco-tourism.

I would like to hear from you which steps you will take to halt this animal cruelty.
