Elephant kills German national in Malawi park

APA-Lilongwe (Malawi) A German national, David Holster, who was visiting a friend in Malawi, has been killed by an elephant at the central district of Kasungu National Park, the police confirmed here on Wednesday.

According to Kasungu Police Officer-In-Charge Foloko Gama, the deceased (35) went to the national park to view nature, including wild animals.

"He saw a group of elephant drinking water and was tempted to take pictures of them. This is when one big elephant charged at him, killing him instantly," he said.

The remains of the deceased are still lying at the Kasungu District Hospital mortuary waiting to be flown to Germany.
