CAS International wil Tom Cruise en Cameron Diaz uit film over stierenrennen Pamplona - Bij opname slaan 7 stieren op vlucht en verwonden twee vrouwen

film set

A European anti-bullfighting organization has asked its supporters to write to Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz to ask them not to appear in a film set in Spain which features scenes portraying the world famous Pamplona Bull Run.
The call for a boycott follows and incident in Cadiz in northern Spain where seven bulls being used in the filming managed to escape and roam free around the city for forty minutes before being recaptured. Two women were injured by the bulls after their escape.
Rehearsals for the new James Mangold directed comedy started last week but filming has now been put on hold by the mayor of Cadiz. A spokesperson for the mayor’s office has said that until the safety of the residents of the city can be completely guaranteed then the film will be put on hold.
CAS International say that they are concerned for the welfare of the animals during the filming of the movie called ‘Knight and Day’ and say that featuring the Pamplona bull run in a high profile comedy could result in more tourists flocking Spain to take part in the actual bull run along with others that are held elsewhere in the country.
Each July crowds of people decide to run ahead of the bulls along the cities cobbled streets to the bull ring. The bulls are then killed by matadors during bull fights. The event was first made internationally famous by Ernest Hemmingway in his novel The Sun Also Rises.
Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are due to fly out to the location next weekend.
